About Bloom & Peck

Growing Good Food With Purpose in Kentucky

Welcome! I’m Erin, the hands and heart behind Bloom & Peck, a learn-with-me homestead rooted in rural Kentucky. Here, I’m learning how to grow nourishing, chemical-free food in Zone 7 and turning it into simple, real meals for my family—while giving back to my community one harvest at a time.

This space isn’t polished or perfection-based, it’s more bless your heart, shoo the rooseter out of the house and hug the dog. It’s real Kentucky soil, lots of beginner oopsies, hopeful experiments, and honest lessons from someone learning right alongside you. Hopefully, to help you not make the same mistakes I did.

Bloom & Peck was born while I healed from 3 major surgies. I started with chickens, small container gardening, rasied garden beds, and sourdough. I wanted to “grow” and give back to my ever evolving Kentucky Homestead Community.

The Purpose Behind Bloom & Peck

To grow better food, nourish our homes with real ingredients, and give back through community-centered homesteading.

After experiencing major health setbacks with myself and my family, I needed a way to reconnect with my body, family, community, mind, food, and our land. Gardening became part of my healing—one raised bed, one tomato, and one sourdough loaf at a time. You have to see when my Sourdough starter escaped! MESSY

Now, I’m sharing everything I learn, spill, trip over, and laugh at, so you can relax and grow good food with purpose too.

Raised garden beds, 3x8 garden beds to be planted
this was a simple start to what is now a evolved kentucky garden, not perfect!

🌿 Grow: Learning to Grow Real, Chemical-Free Food in Kentucky

If you want to grow your own food in Kentucky—even with limited space, limited time, or limited experience—you’re in the right place.

I will share beginner-friendly and “learn-with-me” guidance on:

  • Kentucky Zone 7 gardening
  • Seed starting and raised bed setups, possible high tunnel garden (work in progress-fingers crossed!)
  • Companion planting – nothing woo woo here
  • Raspberries, tomatoes, leafy greens, and other nutrient-dense crops
  • Soil building and organic-style practices (without claiming certification)
  • Small-space gardening that fits real life and real limitations (I have a small kitchen garden set up for easy access!)

If you’re a new gardener or a Kentucky local looking for seasonal advice, this space is for you.
